Breakfast Sausage, Egg & Cheese Casserole

There are many versions of this casserole and I have to admit, I like most of them!  We used to only get breakfast casserole on special occasions, but it recently occurred to me (thanks to the idea from Candace) that this would also make a wonderful dinner as well.  So, it's definitely on the menu

Breakfast Sausage, Egg & Cheese Casserole
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Prep Time: 30 minutes | Bake Time: 45 minutes
9 eggs
9 slices of Italian bread, about an inch thick, crusts removed, cubed
1 pound breakfast sausage
¾ cup shredded Swiss cheese
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
¾ cup milk
1½ teaspoons salt

1. Crumble and cook the sausage according to package directions; drain and set aside.
2. Lightly whisk together the eggs until combined. Mix in all other ingredients, and then fold in sausage.
3. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
4. The next day, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Bake, uncovered for 45 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
